Dr. Urbi Das is an Assistant Professor in the Department of International Relations at Jadavpur University, Kolkata. She previously served as Assistant Professor at Dibrugarh University and Government General Degree College, Kharagpur-II under the West Bengal Educational Services (W.B.E.S). She has been Visiting Faculty at the School of International Relations and Strategic Studies, University of Mumbai, Mumbai.
Dr. Das completed her M.Phil. from the United States Studies Programme at the Centre for Canadian, United States and Latin American Studies (CCUS&LAS), School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, and earned her Ph.D. from Jadavpur University.
Her research interests and academic work focuses on India’s foreign policy and US foreign policy, the strategic and security dynamics of the Indo-Pacific region, minilateralism particularly the Quad, securitization, maritime diplomacy, and India’s strategic engagements in the Indian Ocean and the Bay of Bengal. She has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes published by leading academic publishers including Palgrave Macmillan, Springer Nature, and Routledge.
Dr. Urbi Das has presented papers at several national and international conferences organized by institutions such as National University of Singapore, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Central University of Rajasthan, University of Mumbai, Banaras Hindu University and other reputed academic forums. Her research continues to contribute to contemporary debates on Indo-Pacific strategy, maritime geopolitics, India-US relations and India’s evolving role in regional and global affairs.
