The Kalinga Institute of Indo-Pacific Studies (KIIPS) organised an Online Panel Discussion on the theme “Decoding Indo-Pacific: Views from Southeast Asia” on 30 August 2024. The discussion involved scholars from six Southeast Asian countries: Malaysia, Vietnam, The Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand and Myanmar. The Kalinga Institute of Indo-Pacific Studies (KIIPS) on 17 June 2024 organised a Roundtable Discussion at the India International Centre, New Delhi on the theme ‘Democrat or Republican in the White House: Does It Matter for India?’. China has been developing ports across the world, with a range of partnering countries, in different geostrategic locations, with countries at different levels of economic development and political heft, demands an in-depth status report. This report, therefore, specifically tracks the major ports partially/fully owned by Chinese firms based on data available in open sources. The report, while taking into consideration the ambiguity of the existing data in this regard, assesses the stake of Chinese firms in these ports, the purpose or nature of these ports and their implications for India and for peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region at large. downloaded here.
